About Honoring 2 Years Since Sweet Archer's Birthday

Please help us honor Archer's birthday

Archer's Story:

Two years ago, on April 17, 2023, our family welcomed Archer Lundgren. Born at just 27 weeks, Archer was early but absolutely perfect.

Just a week later, Archer was diagnosed with necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a severe and devastating intestinal disease. We had never heard of NEC until that heartbreaking moment. As his surgeons prepared to remove the sections of his bowel damaged by NEC, they discovered he had NEC totalis — the most severe and rapidly progressing form of the disease.

In his final moments, Archer was held close by his heartbroken parents. He is missed and remembered every single day.

In honor of Archer’s 2nd birthday, we're asking our friends and family to consider making a donation to support the NEC Society. This organization is leading the way in advancing research, education, and advocacy to prevent this devastating disease and protect the most vulnerable babies.

Please help us honor Archer’s life by supporting this cause that is so close to our hearts. Together, we can build a world without NEC.

About NEC and the NEC Society

NEC is the most common and deadly gastrointestinal disease affecting premature infants. In the United States, one baby dies from NEC every single day. It can progress in a matter of hours, leading to sepsis, organ failure, and death. There is no cure. The only way forward is research.

The NEC Society is the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused solely on NEC. Donations are tax-deductible and directly support their work to build a future where no family has to experience this kind of loss.
