About Team Ronan

Ronan was born at 28 weeks weighing in at 1 lb 2 ounces. For the first few weeks of his life he tackled typical NICU peaks and valleys. We cherish this time of watching him grow and change. When he was about 7 weeks old, he developed necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC)- a devastating intestinal infection that plagues preemies. Despite the best care at UCSF, two surgeries, Ronan passed away in his mother's arms with his family surrounding him on December 20, 2020. We honor his memory by raising funds to build a world without NEC so that, hopefully, one day, no parent has to say goodbye to their child because of NEC. Please join us in building a world without NEC.
