My name is Spencer Nielsen and I am running the California International Marathon to support the NEC Society's mission to eradicate necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). NEC is a devastating intestinal disease that affects premature infants and is the leading cause of death among preemies. A That's why I want to help the NEC Society raise funds for research, education, and family support programs to prevent NEC and give every baby the chance for a healthy start in life.
